Revit 2012 Service Pack 2 Available

Well, the latest service pack for Revit is now available!  You can download the update HERE. As always, make sure you download the appropriate version (for OS) and read the Readme file.

The update list isn’t available yet, but check back on the download site within the next couple days and it should be available.

I posted this morning that SP2 was needed in order to utilize the Cloud Rendering that’s now available via the Autodesk Cloud.  So once you install SP2, you should now be able to utilize the Add-in for Cloud Rendering.

Revit Architecture 2012 Update 1 Available

I knew this would happen… get busy and things slip through without being noticed.  Thanks to a co-worker, I was notified this morning that the 1st service pack/update was now available for the Revit 2012 products.  You can download the update HERE.

For some reason, the list that’s typically included isn’t available quite yet.  There are a few people that have posted about some of the fixes (What Revit Wants has a post that explains this a little along with a couple of the items people have notice that are fixed).  As soon as the list becomes available, it will be plastered all over the web!

One of the things that I noticed and am very, very happy that is fixed is Revit 2012 crashing when working with the Materials dialog.  My Revit 2012 has been crashing every time I went to close the Materials dialog, and now with Update 1, that’s been fixed!

So keep your eye on the web for the list of updates…I’m sure it won’t be too long before it’s out.

Revit Architecture 2011 Update/Service Pack 1

Well, this managed to come up without much notice.  And if you’re looking at the Autodesk website, you won’t find the update either (at least so far at 9:00 am CST).  It did pop up on my Communication/Info Center that there was an update.  The link will bring you to a “local” htm page that has a link to the readme and a button to Update your software.  This link does know if you have a 32bit or 64bit installation.

Here’s the list of the main updates…

The list of supported video cards and drivers has been updated.

Improves stability in working with families.

Correct export of embedded curtain walls to gbXML.

Correct parameter names display within the Decal Dialog.

Improves consistency between Revit and Max when exporting lights with IES files via FBX.

Restored custom quality setting that controls number of refractions in a rendering.

Repairs printing issue where Scope Boxes from Linked files were visible despite Print settings turning them off.

Revit Architecture 2010 (RAC 2010) Service Pack-Web Update 2 Now Available

I’m somehow not surprised this came out today (9-30-09), the second Service Pack/Web Update for Revit Architecture 2010.  The download can be found HERE.  There are two separate downloads…one for 32bit and one for 64bit.  Make sure you download the correct version!

Revit Structure and Revit MEP Updates are also available!

New Service Pack for Revit Suite Products

I saw this title - Autodesk Releases Service Pack 1 for Revit Architecture - on TenLinks Daily yesterday and thought I would clarify what it meant.  This is NOT a service pack for Revit...it is a service pack for the AutoCAD portion of Revit Suite (Architecture and Structure).  There are 4 separate downloads for the AutoCAD 2009 Service Pack 1...AutoCAD LT, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Revit Architecture Suite and AutoCAD Revit Structure Suite.

Please make sure you download the correct service pack for the version of AutoCAD you are using.  And remember, Revit uses Web Updates not Service Packs for the updating process.

New Revit Builds (Web Updates) are Available

The first Revit builds (or Web Updates are they are calling them) are now available from Autodesk for the 2009 products, currently for English versions.  Other language versions of Web Update 1 will be available in the coming weeks.  The builds can be found here...

Architecture/Platform Enhancements
 Improves performance when modifying customer visibility settings for linked files, when many volumes exist that are bound by the linked file.
 Improves the plotting consistency of certain components that are placed over hatched elements in coordination and architectural discipline views.
 Rooms will now export Revit internal parameters for IFC.
 When rendering, the progress bar reports correct percent complete.
 “Intensity” on Decal Types dialog was changed to “Brightness” to match Help documentation.

New Service Pack - SP3

While I was on vacation, Revit Arch got a new service pack released. Here are the improvements that were provided.

• Allows the ability to array face-based families placed on a vertical face.
• Allows the ability to maintain face-based instances on curved surfaces of a Revit file linked into Revit Architecture software when the link is unloaded.

• Improves stability when accessing the Help menu in Revit Architecture on a computer with the Microsoft Windows Vista™ operating system.
